PURPOSE: To authorize the Council Chief of Staff to work with the County Sheriff and County Executive to develop an RFP with the purpose of finding a qualified firm to conduct an efficiency study of Jail Operations.

 

BACKGROUND: The complexity of jail operations and the costs associated with providing those services are increasing and with the fiscal pressures facing the County’s General Fund, this efficiency study provides an opportunity to evaluate Jail Operations.  Funding comes from the Council’s Performance Audit appropriation.
