PURPOSE: To Amend Chapter 2.48 and add a report for motions not scheduled for committee
BACKGROUND: While Snohomish County Code requires a report for Ordinances that are pending introduction, there is not comparable report for motions that have not been scheduled for committee. Additionally, code authorizes 2 or more councilmembers to pull a motion out of committee and place it on Committee of the Whole after 45 days have lapsed from assignment to the committee. To assist Councilmembers in tracking motions that may be reaching or have passed the 45-day window, Proposed Ordinance 25-XXX adds a requirement that the clerk of the council delivers a report of motions that are 35-days past assignment to committee; this report shall be placed on the agenda at an Administrative Session under “clerk’s report on pending legislation.”
