ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 26-067, authorizing the Snohomish County Executive to sign City of Everett Interlocal Agreement for Downtown Everett Business Improvement Area

body

DEPARTMENT:  Facilities and Fleet

ORIGINATOR:  Carl Jorgensen

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Thomas Teigen 1/28/26

PURPOSE: To have the City of Everett and Snohomish County to partner together to increase in the attractiveness and economic vitality of the Downtown Everett Business Improvement Area by improving and continuously maintaining the City of Everett’s public rights of way, including sidewalks, alleyways, business frontage and business entrances.

BACKGROUND: In 2022 the City of Everet and Snohomish County entered into an Interlocal Agreement to keep downtown Everett clean and free of vandalization. That Agreement expired at the end of 2025. The effectiveness of the agreement compelled the County to continue this agreement with the City of Everett for five more years.
