PURPOSE: To fill an at-large vacancy on the arts commission
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Arts Commission was created in 2004 to propose and oversee a county-wide arts program. The arts commission serves as an advisory board and makes recommendations regarding the purchases and commissioning of public art and the promotion of cultural arts in Snohomish County. The commission consists of 11 members, five to represent each council district, and six at large positions. Maria Casey lives in Everett and is a working visual artist that works with special needs populations. Approval by Motion is sought from Council to appoint Maria Casey to the Snohomish County Arts Commission, at-large position, effective date of approval, fulfilling a term that expires December 31, 2027.
