PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 05 to Marpac Construction.

BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18^th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. Marpac priced the project based on the ability to reuse the existing conventional fire alarm system. The City of Everett Fire Department Official is requiring the system to be addressable to have low volume horns, and associated upgrades as is the official’s right to require such per the Fire Code. This is a condition that could not have been know at the time of the bid. The Change Order Proposal has been negotiated down from an initial pre-tax cost of $282,332.57. As of the start of this ECAF file in Legistar, Change Order 04 is in process in Legistar.
