ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 21-399, approve and authorize the County Executive to execute to a consent to the assumption of software license agreement for permit tracking software system (AMANDA)

body

DEPARTMENT:  Information Technology

ORIGINATOR:  Dee White

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approve Ken Klein 10/20/21

PURPOSE: The purpose of this ECAF is to approve and authorize execution of the Consent to Assumption of Software License Agreement for Permit Tracking Software System (AMANDA).

BACKGROUND: PDS has used AMANDA (a relational database) to manage work flow associated with the building and permitting processes since 1994.  This software tracks all PDS permits, some Public Works permits, and permit fees. It manages work flow associated with the building and permitting processes. The system was upgraded and enhanced in 1998, 2001, 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2018. The software is routinely maintained via new released from the vendor. AMANDA is a critical software needed for continued business operations of PDS.  AMANDA was purchased in 1994 from CSDC Systems, Inc. as successor in interest to Sequent Computer Systems, Inc. In 2019, CSDC rebranded and became known as Calytera US, Inc.  Calytera was acquired by Granicus in 2020.  This Consent to Assumption of Software License Agreement for Permit Tracking Software System (AMANDA) memorializes Granicus’ desires to accept and assume all of Calytera’s rights, duties, benefits, and obligations under the Agreement.
