body

DEPARTMENT:  Conservation & Natural Resources/Parks and Recreation

ORIGINATOR:  Connie Price/Sharon Swan

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Lacey Harper 7/8/24

PURPOSE: To authorize approval of an Interlocal Agreement with the Port of Everett and City of Everett to replace the boat launch floats at Jetty Landing Park (aka “10th St. Boat Launch”)

BACKGROUND: The 10th St. Boat Launch, with Jetty Landing Park facilities, was acquired collectively by the Port of Everett, the City of Everett and Snohomish County in 1972 to provide recreation facilities.  Since that time the Port, City and County have worked collaboratively on a number of projects that have been formalized through Interlocal Agreements and occasionally by Memorandums of Understanding. The current Interlocal Agreement is to describe responsibilities of each owner with respect to replacing boat launch floats. The Port is identified as the project lead and will oversee the project and apply for grant funding to support the work.  All three parties will contribute 1/3 of the required grant match, not to exceed $83,333.33.  Funding for the County’s share of the project is available within Parks’ current capital budget.
