DEPARTMENT:  Airport

ORIGINATOR:  Emily Philippe

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Michael Fong 1/21/25

PURPOSE: To fill a vacant position within the Airport Commission.

BACKGROUND: .

The Airport Commission was established by Ordinance 17-003 on March 29, 2017.

The Airport Commission acts as an advisory board to the Executive.

The Airport Commission is composed of thirteen (13) members consisting of one person from each council district, three persons from the airport tenant community, three persons from the business community, and two persons from the county at large.

Mr. Todd Haberlack, who had represented the airport tenants on the Airport Commission, has retired from Boeing and Eric Epstein has applied to replace him as a representative of airport tenants.

Mr. Epstein has been employed by the Boeing Company for over twenty-seven years, with seventeen of the years in a leadership position. His current role is a Planning Manager for Real Estate and Facilities which has a strong and direct connection with the Airport. Mr. Epstein interfaces frequently with staff on various issues (real estate, airfield projects, fire, security, etc.).  Additionally, he is nearly a life-long resident of the area and has a deep sense of respect and appreciation for what the Airport provides to the community.

It is recommended that Mr. Epstein fill the vacant Airport Tenant Representative position for the balance of the term, which is set to expire January 31, 2026.
