body
DEPARTMENT: Executive
ORIGINATOR: Tonya Watson
EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: A. Boungjaktha (3/27/24)
PURPOSE: Authorizing approval of professional economic development services through the American rescue plan act (ARPA)
BACKGROUND: The Economic Development team at Snohomish County was created by the Snohomish County Executive’s Office to lead in the development and implementation of economic policy for the betterment of all citizens of Snohomish County. Businesses across Snohomish County are grappling with similar challenges, including the unequal impact of business and population growth across communities, geographies, and the environment. This economic environment has created the conditions needed to strategically forge an economic strategy and enhance the county’s identity as a welcoming, supportive location for talent and business. Snohomish County, through the Executive’s Office of Economic Development Division, advertised Request for Proposal RFP-23-072BC for the purpose of selecting a consultant for professional economic development services, who will be used to create goals to support the County’s vision for economic development, create proposed work and monitoring plans, and recommendations for assessing impact across priority sectors.
