PURPOSE: To authorize the Executive to accept Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program Grant Offer 3-53-0028-068-2025 “Reconstruct Taxilane E (east 1,650 feet)” at Snohomish County Airport/Paine Field.

 

BACKGROUND: .

                     The FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant Offer 3-53-0028-068-2025 is being provided to Snohomish County Airport (the Airport) to reconstruct the asphalt pavement of the eastern half of Taxiway Echo with concrete, as well as rehabilitate the asphalt pavement of Taxiway Lima via mill & overlay, in order to preserve the useful life of these pavements. 

                     The AIP 3-53-0028-068-2025 (AIP 068) is being provided to the Airport to fund the construction of this project, as well as the associated engineering costs.

                     This contract will be 95% funded by AIP 068, in the amount of $8,500,000.

                     The required 5% matching funds will be provided from the Airport fund, anticipated to not exceed $447,369.

                     The Airport seeks authorization for the Executive to accept this FAA AIP grant in the amount of $8,500,000, and further authorization for the Airport Director to approve any amendments thereto (not to exceed 15% of the original grant amount).

This project will be constructed in the summer of 2025.

                     Please note the Executive must execute the grant, followed (and not preceded) by the attorney’s certification, no later than February 24, 2025, in order for the grant to be valid.
