PURPOSE: Approval of Contract CC01-22 for 2022 Legal Services will allow Snohomish County Public Works to utilize Hendricks Bennett, PLLC to provide legal services for condemnation cases.
BACKGROUND: In the course of acquisition of property for County projects, occasions arise that require the use of the County’s Eminent Domain or Condemnation authority. The County has identified a need for specialized attorney services to handle condemnation cases. The County’s Prosecuting Attorney Office is currently not able to provide these services for Public Works. Hendricks Bennett currently has several cases in various stages of progress. This contract will allow for the completion of these cases and work on additional cases that may occur in 2022. All anticipated costs are budgeted in the proposed 2022 Annual Construction Program and are all project related. Total payments for services under the contract between Snohomish County and Hendricks Bennett, PLLC shall not exceed $140,000.00.
