EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approve
PURPOSE: To authorize the County Executive to execute Addendum to the Interlocal Agreement for Salmon Recovery Planning Efforts in Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) 8.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County, King County and 24 cities and towns have participated in Watershed Planning and Conservation Efforts in WRIA 8 since 2007 through an Interlocal agreement. The original ILA expired at the end of 2015 and a new ILA was executed on December 18, 2015 with an effective date of January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2025. The County withdrew its participation in the ILA in 2018 due to budget constraints but has subsequently reinstated its membership through Amendment No. 1 in 2020. At this time, the City of Everett wishes to become a member which requires consent of all parties. If approved, this addendum will serve as the County’s consent to allow the City of Everett to participate in the ILA.
