PURPOSE: Ongoing compliance with RCW 84.34, enacted by the state legislature to “maintain, preserve, conserve and otherwise continue in existence adequate open space lands for the production of food, fiber and forest crops, and to assure the use and enjoyment of natural resources and scenic beauty for the economic and social well-being of the state and its citizens” and that “assessment practices must be so designed as to permit the continued availability of open space lands for these purposes.”
BACKGROUND: Parcel 31042600300300 was previously in Open Space Farm & Agriculture and applicant seeks classification under Open Space Land - Farm and Agricultural Conservation Land for 5.35 allowable of 6.35 acres for which application has been made. The current use of the subject property conforms to the requirements of the Open Space Land - Farm and Agricultural Conservation Land classification for assessment purposes. Parcel 31041200302700 has not previously been in Open Space and applicant seeks classification under Open Space General for .8718 of 1.8718 acres for which application has been made. Per the property owner, this portion of the property has been designated NGPA. The current use of the property conforms to the requirements of the Open Space Land - General classification for assessment purposes.
