PURPOSE: Approval of Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement between Snohomish County and the Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District.
BACKGROUND: On September 23, 2003, Snohomish County (the “County”) and Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District (the “District”) entered into an agreement for the County to connect County wastewater facilities to District wastewater facilities within the District’s service area. The original agreement was set for a 20-year period which expired on 12/31/2022 and the agreement was amended twice to extend the completion date through 12/31/2023. The County and District wish to extend the term of the agreement for an additional six months through 06/30/2024 in order to continue to negotiate terms of a new agreement. The District approved the amendment at their regularly scheduled board meeting on 11/15/2023. If approved, the estimated cost for the additional six months of service is $50,000.
