PURPOSE: Approval for Professional Services Agreement Amendment No. 5 with J.A. Brennan Associates, PLLC for Kayak Point Park Day Use design and permitting
BACKGROUND: A consultant contract for professional services for Kayak Point Park was executed with J.A. Brennan Assoc. PLLC on Oct. 19, 2016 to update the Preferred Plan for the park and to also create a redevelopment concept for the day-use area of the facility. The redevelopment concept was created to provide the basis for further design and ultimately the execution of the renovation. This initial contract was followed by four subsequent amendments, the largest of which was to initiate detailed design for permitting and construction purposes. As this work has progressed, the need for additional permit and design support work has been identified, which is contained within the proposed Amendment Number 5. This amendment will provide required additional reports, review, and coordination meetings associated with time extensions and permitting. Parks and J.A. Brennan Assoc. PLLC have negotiated an amendment for the value of $144,674 (One hundred forty four thousand, six hundred seventy four dollars). This amount is available within current budget for the project.
