PURPOSE: SET PUBLIC HEARING TIME AND DATE TO HEAR AND ACT UPON THE COUNTY ENGINEER’S RECOMMENDATION TO GRANT A NONEXCLUSIVE CABLE FRANCHISE AUTHORIZING LIMITED USE OF THE PUBLIC ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON TO WAVEDIVISION I, LLC D/B/A ASTOUND BROADBAND
BACKGROUND: WaveDivision I, LLC D/B/A Astound Broadband, (“Astound”), currently holds the franchisee’s interest in and to that certain cable franchise granted on October 31, 2012, by Ordinance No. 12-080, recorded under auditor’s file No. 201302260174 in, on, across, over, along, under, and/or through public rights-of-way within unincorporated Snohomish County (“Prior Franchise”) Astound requested renewal of the cable franchise on May 19, 2017 in accordance with the terms of the franchise agreement. The agreement expired on January 13, 2020, but both parties agreed to abide by the terms of the Prior Franchise on a month-to-month basis following its expiration. The County and Astound have reached agreement regarding the terms and conditions of a renewed cable franchise.
