PURPOSE: To obtain Council approval of a 4th amendment to a Contract for Special Services with Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, P.S. (f/k/a Joyce Ziker Partners, PLLC) regarding the Robinett Brothers matter (C21-045).
BACKGROUND: The Prosecuting Attorney entered into a contract with Joyce Ziker Parkinson PLLC (n/k/a Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, P.S.) on July 11, 2019, to provide legal services up to $15,000. A first amendment was approved on December 14, 2020, authorizing legal services provided by Joyce Ziker Partners (f/k/a Joyce Ziker Parkinson PLLC) of up to $40,000. The Council approved a second amendment on October 13, 2021, authorizing legal services provided by Joyce Ziker Partners of up to $100,000. The Council approved a third amendment on February 1, 2023, authorizing legal services provided by Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, P.S. (f/k/a Joyce Ziker Partners), for up to $150,000. The litigation of and resolution to the Robinett matter are taking longer than initially anticipated. Accordingly, the fourth amendment with Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, P.S. (f/k/a Joyce Ziker Partners) authorizes legal services of up to $175,000.
