body

DEPARTMENT:  Facilities & Fleet

ORIGINATOR:  Bill Thornton, Purchasing Manager

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Tom Teigen 2/11/26

PURPOSE: Revised Bid Award Recommendation for ITB-24-031RB, Fleet Vehicles, Ford  (Various Types)

BACKGROUND: A competitive Invitation to Bid, ITB-24-031RB, was issued on behalf of the Fleet Services Division to obtain pricing for various models of Ford Vehicles and Ford Vehicles parts. The vehicles along with parts will be purchased on an as-needed basis for the County’s use in various departments. Council previously approved award of this contract to Pierre Ford of Lynnwood through Motion 24-489 (ECAF 2024-2925). Due to sustained high demand for Ford parts, the geographic distribution of County fleet maintenance and repair facilities, and the need to ensure timely and reliable access to critical parts, Fleet Services now seeks to establish a secondary awardee under the original solicitation, in accordance with SCC section 3.04.120 and section 3.04.140(5). Pierre Ford of Seattle was the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder and submitted competitive pricing. The original estimated contract amount of $5,000,000.00 remains unchanged.
