PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 05 to Lincoln Construction, Inc.
BACKGROUND: The County and Lincoln Construction Inc. (LCi)entered into an agreement on December 19th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Edmonds. LCi priced the project based on the ability to reuse the existing conventional fire alarm system. The South County Fire Department Official is requiring the system to be addressable, to have low volume horns, and associated upgrades as is the official’s right to require such per the Fire Code. This is a condition that could not have been know at the time of the bid. The Change Order Proposal has been negotiated down from an initial pre-tax cost of $188,270.
