body
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
ORIGINATOR: Lori White
EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Ken Klein (approved 8/3/22)
PURPOSE: Approval of Amendment No.10 to the Master Contract for an Automated Vehicle Location System will allow Snohomish County to continue using the services of CalAmp Radio Satellite Integrators, Inc. for another one-year term
BACKGROUND: In order to manage its vehicle operations, the Department of Public Works (PW) determined it beneficial to install and implement an automated vehicle location and mobile data system in 387 vehicles. The Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) system provides the County with the tools for faster and more efficient dispatching along with real-time and historical data that can be used for a variety of administrative tasks or analysis. PW selected CalAmp, using applicable Federal, State and County policies and practices. The initial agreement was approved by Council on August 29, 2012 The agreement has previously been amended on nine (9) occasions to provide additional equipment and/or services. The current agreement term is set to expire on October 28, 2022. This amendment will extend the agreement for an additional one-year term while AVL services are recompeted. The total budget for this ECAF is $131,892.00 for additional equipment and/or services with a total not to exceed amount of $1,805,877.00
