PURPOSE: To approve amendment No 2 to Agreement No CC08-20 with Tetra Tech Inc. for Lake Management Limnology Services.
BACKGROUND: Surface Water Management’s Lake Management Program provides scientific analysis and support for lakes across the County including Lake Stevens, Lake Roesiger and Lake Ketchum. The assistance of a lake scientist (limnologist) is needed to provide technical support for the analysis of lake water quality data, the development of lake restoration plans, and the implementation of lake restoration activities. The existing agreement CC08-20 expires June 30, 2023. Surface Water Management would like to extend the contract for one year and is requesting a $40,000 increase to ensure continuity of services in 2023 and 2024. The increase is needed due to unanticipated projects requiring limnological services in 2021 and 2022 including the Lake Roesiger invasive aquatic plant control planning project (funded by a Department of Ecology grant) and a water quality study at Lake Stevens (paid by the City of Lake Stevens via a services agreement).
