ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 25-118, authorizing the Director of Conservation and Natural Resources to approve homeowner grant agreements to expend approved Weatherization Program Funding

body

DEPARTMENT:  DCNR/OES

ORIGINATOR:  Matthew Bell/Brandi Spores

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Lacey Harper 2/24/25

PURPOSE: Council to approve and authorize the Director of Conservation and Natural Resources to sign homeowner grant agreements for Weatherization Improvements approved under the Conservation and Natural Resources Office of Energy and Sustainability 2025 Grant Work Plan and the State Home Energy Assistance Program-Weatherization contract with Washington State Department of Commerce.

BACKGROUND: The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has received multiple grants to provide free home energy improvements and conservation education to qualifying low-income households. Qualifying low-income households rely on weatherization improvements to lower their monthly utility costs and make their homes more comfortable and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources wishes to reduce the time required to provide these valuable services to low-income households.
