PURPOSE: Motion to re-appoint Kate Cain to the Developmental Disabilities Citizen Advisory Board.

 

BACKGROUND: The Developmental Disabilities Citizen Advisory Board is comprised of citizens who serve in an advisory capacity to the Developmental Disability staff of the Snohomish County Human Services Department. The Board meets monthly, and is comprised of up to 15 members, drawing from all areas of the county and a range of backgrounds, including family members, individuals with developmental disabilities, professionals, and advocates. 
                     Kate Cain resides in Council District 2
                     Kate Cain is a Special Education Teacher for 18-21-year-old students
                     Kate Cain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Education   •                     Kate Cain is a parent of individuals with developmental disabilities                    
                     Kate Cain has many years of experience working with families, Person-Centered Planners, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation counselors, Developmental Disabilities Community Servies case managers, and the School to Work program
                     Kate Cain is not a member of any other County board or commission
                     Kate Cain is recommended for an additional three-year term upon her appointment
