PURPOSE: To obtain approval to execute Amendment 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Aalta, LLC for Database Administration Services.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County has a need to provide administration and support for enterprise-wide Microsoft SQL (SQL) and Oracle database environments, including servers, Data Base Management Systems (DBMS) and databases, which are used by many Enterprise, Business, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other Custom systems. RFP 44-18SB was published to obtain proposals to provide a long-term solution for database administration managed services. The IT Department and Aalta executed an agreement in 2019 which expires in 2024. Competition is waived in accordance with SCC 3.04.203. Aalta has provided excellent services since 2019, therefore, IT and Aalta have agreed to have the services renew automatically each year until terminated by the County. The parties have agreed to annual fees of $112,000 for 2025 and a low fixed annual increase of 3.5% beginning 1/1/2026. Approval of this Amendment 1 will allow for Aalta to increase the annual fees and continue to provide the services until terminated by the County.
