PURPOSE: Approval for Professional Services Agreement Amendment No. 7 with J.A. Brennan Associates, PLLC for Kayak Point Park Day Use pier condition assessment
BACKGROUND: A consultant contract for professional services for Kayak Point Park was executed with J.A. Brennan Assoc. PLLC on Oct. 19, 2016 to update the Preferred Plan for the park and to also create a redevelopment concept for the day-use area of the facility. The redevelopment concept was created to provide the basis for further design and ultimately the execution of the renovation. This initial contract was followed by six subsequent amendments, the largest of which was to initiate detailed design for permitting and construction purposes, additional permit and design support and reporting requirements. This amendment will provide the next step in design services as included in the original RFP, to allow for construction support for Phase 1 construction. Parks and J.A. Brennan Associates PLLC have negotiated an amendment for the value of $739,689 (Seven hundred thirty-nine thousand, six hundred eighty-nine dollars). This amount is available within current budget for the project.
