EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approve
PURPOSE: Extend the Council’s existing Agreement with Gordon Thomas Honeywell for state government relations representation for one year. This will be the last extension allowed under the initial contract.
BACKGROUND: On September 4, 2018 the Snohomish County Council (Council) approved Motion 18-299, authorizing the execution of a professional services agreement (PSA) between the Council and Gordon Thomas Honeywell (GHT) to serve as the Councils government relations representative at the State level. The initial PSA was for a duration of January 1, 2019 - July 31, 2020 and provided an option to extend the agreement for up to two one-year terms. The do not exceed amount of the initial contract was for $152,000. On July 20, 2020 Council approved the first one-year extension to this PSA through Motion 20-240, beginning August 1, 2020 and ending July 31, 2021. The motion before you today would authorize the Chair and Chief of Staff of the Snohomish County Council to execute the second, and final, extension allowed under this PSA for the period of August 1, 2021 - July 31, 2022. The do not exceed amount of this one-year extension is $96,000 (which is the same as the prior extension).
