PURPOSE: To give task assignment approval authority to the Director of Conservation and Natural Resources for Parks and Recreation Division projects for the remainder of 2022.
BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works manages an On-Call program which includes various disciplines and subcategories used by Public Works on an as-needed basis for emergency projects, time critical projects, and for elements of projects where the required expertise is not available. The Snohomish County Parks and Recreation Division (“Parks”) periodically coordinates with and utilizes Public Work’s On-Call Agreements for the completion of various tasks; and The authorizing motions for the 2019 - 2021 On-Call Master Agreements authorized the Director of Public Works to approve Task Assignments under the Master Agreements, provided that sufficient appropriation authority exists; and Parks has in the past secured approval for individual Task Assignments through Council action and is seeking to streamline future approval processes by delegating approval authority to the Director of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources;
