PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of PW-23-007SB Change Order 013A
BACKGROUND: The County and Western Ventures Construction Inc. entered into an agreement on June 22, 2023, for the Sheriff’s Office Tenant Improvements, West Precinct Airport project. The West Precinct Sheriff and Paine Field, has a single contract, two funding sources, and three areas of work. The competitive bid and initial contract award for PW-23-007SB covered two areas of the work. The interior improvements for the Sheriff and the Airport. The contract also identified the split of the contract amounts for those work areas to the separate funding sources. The third area of work is the site improvements, which were recently approved as a part of CO-05A. Change Order CO-13A covers items typically associated with changes in construction projects. The changes include items for unexpected hidden conditions (mold discovered during construction), clarifications of design elements that became apparent to the end users after some construction was in place (faucets to better fit the sinks, additional cable trays), and design revisions requested by the end user (clock wall).
