PURPOSE: Approval for Professional Services Agreement Amendment No. 9 with J.A. Brennan Associates, PLLC for Kayak Point Park Day Use phase 2 construction, bid, and monitoring support services

 

BACKGROUND: A consultant contract for professional services for Kayak Point Park was executed with J.A. Brennan Assoc. PLLC on Oct. 19, 2016 to update the preferred plan for the park and to also create a redevelopment concept for the day-use area of the facility.  The redevelopment concept was created to provide the basis for further design and ultimately the execution of the renovation.  This initial contract was followed by eight subsequent amendments, the largest of which was to initiate detailed design for permitting and construction purposes, additional permit and design support and reporting requirements and providing construction and bid support for Phase 1 construction. These services were included in the original RFP, to allow for construction support for Phase 2 construction, which is the final phase of construction and anticipated to begin by the end of 2023.  Parks and J.A. Brennan Associates PLLC have negotiated an amendment for the value of $616,967 (Six hundred, sixteen thousand, nine hundred sixty seven dollars). This amount is available within current budget for the project.
