PURPOSE: Council to approve and authorize the Executive to sign the Salmon Recovery through Local Planning Grant Agreement 26-63117-011 with the Washington State Department of Commerce
BACKGROUND: This grant will support urban forestry efforts in Snohomish County through data collection, mapping analysis, developing stewardship opportunities, and public participation. This grant will also support planning efforts toward implementing urban tree canopy goals, objectives, and policies included in the Natural Element of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan. This agreement, in the amount of $500,000 for the period of 7/1/2025 through 6/30/2027, was not included in the 2026 Grant Work Plan and requires Council approval.
