PURPOSE: Executive signature on Washington State Department of Commerce, Housing Division, Homeless Assistance Unit, System Demonstration Grant (SDG) Contract Number: 24-46108-28 Amendment C
BACKGROUND: The Washington State Department of Commerce has increased Snohomish County’s System Demonstration Grant award by $12,732,518 for the period 7/1/2024 through 6/30/2025.
The new total award amount is $39,519,091 for the period 7/1/2023 through 6/30/2025. This program combines state homeless resources into a single grant opportunity under the administration of Washington State Department of Commerce, providing funding for coordinated entry, emergency shelter, rapid re-housing rent assistance, permanent supportive housing, or homelessness prevention.
This funding exceeds the approved 2024 Human Services Department Grant Work Plan (GWP) approved via Motion 22-417. Subsequently, Motion 23-281 authorized the County Executive to execute subsequent amendments.
