DEPARTMENT:  Public Works

ORIGINATOR:  Julie High

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved

PURPOSE: To approve Intergovernmental Services Agreement between Snohomish County and Public Utility District No. 1 of Snohomish County for distribution pole and easement relocation at SW corner 123rd Ave NE and 84th St NE; costs not to exceed $90,000 without written approval from Snohomish County.

BACKGROUND:
- The 84th St NE/123rd Ave NE Intersection Improvements project is listed as item D.67.02 in the 2025 Annual Construction Program. The County proposes the construction of a roundabout with shared use sidewalks, shoulders, and drainage facilities to improve traffic flow and safety.
- Public Utility District #1 (PUD) is the supplier of electrical service at 84th St NE and 123rd Ave NE near Granite Falls.
- This pole is located at the southwest corner of 84th St NE and 123rd Ave NE, within an existing PUD easement, where the roundabout will be constructed.
- PUD will need to acquire a new easement and relocate the pole outside of the area where the roundabout is being constructed.
- This contract is for engineering, material, easement acquisition, permitting and construction labor cost to relocate (1) distribution pole and any work on the adjacent poles resulting from this location.
- Before exceeding the $90,000 estimate, Snohomish County PUD will provide a supplemental estimate. This estimate must be reviewed and approved by the County before the work can continue.
