PURPOSE: Approve amendment with Latino Educational Training Institute (LETI) to provide Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19 grant funding and develop and disseminate health and safety information that is accurate, accessible, and actionable for the residents of Snohomish County. The Department of Health and Human Services has extended the budget period for the AHL grant through June 30, 2024. BACKGROUND: In July 2021, the Snohomish Health District was awarded the Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Response to COVID-19 grant (AHL) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and has been collaborating with Latino Educational Training Institute (LETI) since the start of our advancing health literacy grant work. They have promoted changes in the health care delivery system that improves health information, communication, informed decision-making, and access to health services and helped support and expand local efforts to provide adult education, English language instruction, and culturally and linguistically appropriate health information services in the community and have actively participated in multiple events and conducted outreach on behalf of the Health Department and grant activities.
