PURPOSE: Approval for Professional Services Agreement Amendment No. 6 with J.A. Brennan Associates, PLLC for Kayak Point Park Day Use pier condition assessment
BACKGROUND: A consultant contract for professional services for Kayak Point Park was executed with J.A. Brennan Assoc. PLLC on Oct. 19, 2016 to update the Preferred Plan for the park and to also create a redevelopment concept for the day-use area of the facility. The redevelopment concept was created to provide the basis for further design and ultimately the execution of the renovation. This initial contract was followed by five subsequent amendments, the largest of which was to initiate detailed design for permitting and construction purposes and a recent amendment for additional permit and design support. This amendment will provide required analysis of the structural condition of the pier after recent 2021 storm events, to identify additional damaged infrastructure. Parks and J.A. Brennan Associates PLLC have negotiated an amendment for the value of $12,618 (Twelve thousand, six hundred eighteen dollars). This amount is available within current budget for the project.
