PURPOSE: Authorize the lodging-tax Hotel-Motel Funding MOU Agreement between Snohomish County and the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) endorsed project, Snohomish County DCNR - America 250: A Celebration Concert at an amount of not to exceed $12,500.
MOU established instead of a professional services contract due to the grant applicant being an eligible municipality and a Snohomish County Department. This MOU authorizes interfund transfers between the hotel-motel fund for DCNR’s approved round 2 hotel-motel grant.
BACKGROUND: On February 18, 2026, Snohomish County Council approved the 2025 Local Hotel/Motel Fund Grants Expenditure Plan, which included funding eighteen projects at the levels recommended by the Snohomish County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). The attached contract (P-26-12) has a value of $12,500 and is within the Executive’s authority to execute without further Council involvement as a result of its approval per Motion 26-054. This agreement uses an MOU instead of a professional services contract due to the grant applicant being an eligible municipality and a Snohomish County Department. This MOU authorizes interfund transfers between the hotel-motel fund for DCNR’s approved round 2 hotel-motel grant. This was recommended by Legal rather than using the professional services contract.
