PURPOSE: Request approval for the 2023-2024 Puget Sound Energy Low Income Program (PSE-LIP) Agreement, Amendment No. 2
BACKGROUND: The 2023-2024 Puget Sound Energy HELP Low Income Program is funded by Investors. The program funds are designed to reduce the burden of rising home energy costs by providing assistance with a portion of a low-income household’s gas bill. The agreement is for heating/cooling bill assistance which will serve approximately 3,126 low-income households.
The original 2023-2024 Puget Sound Energy HELP Low Income Program agreement was in the amount of $775,797 for gas benefits and administration and operating fees for the period October 1st, 2023 through September 30, 2024.
Amendment No. 1 added $519,481 for gas benefits and administrative and operating fees.
This Amendment No. 2 will add $1,038,358 for gas benefits and administrative and operating fees, which will bring the total amended agreement amount to $2,333,636 gas benefits administration and operating fees for the period of October 1st, 2023 through September 30, 2024.
This Program was included in the 2023 Human Services Department Grant Work Plan via Motion 22-417. Motion 24-226 approved the original contract and authorized the Executive to sign any additional amendments thereto.
