PURPOSE: Council’s approval for Amendment #5 of the Vertiv Uninterruptible Power Service (UPS) Maintenance and Services Contract for the Campus Data Center, Jail, Records, EOC and DJJC buildings’ Liebert equipment.
BACKGROUND: The data centers located at the Campus, Jail, Records, DEM and DJJC buildings use Liebert UPS devices requiring certified maintenance twice a year. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a device that allows critical equipment to keep running for a short time if the primary power source is lost. It also provides protection from power surges. We are requesting a short-term contract for 7 months with Vertiv to cover maintenance and on-call emergency services until a new contract can be put in place. This equipment has been in place at the county maintained by this contractor for over 13 years. The annual cost is paid out of the Facilities Maintenance Divisions expense budgets as applicable.
