Title
Motion 23-275, approving Amendment No 2 to the Professional Services Agreement between Snohomish County and AB Staffing Solutions relating to temporary healthcare personnel
body
DEPARTMENT: Sheriff’s Office, Corrections Bureau
ORIGINATOR: Karla Beers
EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Ken Klein (6/22/23)
PURPOSE: Approval of Amendment No 2 to the Professional Services Agreement for agency medical staffing to supplement Corrections health care employees on an as needed basis.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Bureau operates a 24 hour/7 day per week medical department to serve the medical needs of the inmate population. The medical unit may require contract nursing and healthcare personnel to work various shifts in the clinic to temporarily supplement County staff. AB Staffing Solutions offers competitive rates and an option of bringing in as-needed temporary medical staff. The Professional Services Agreement to provide temporary healthcare personnel was approved in September 2021 as a supplemental agreement to our agency staffing agreement with HealthPros NW. Amendment 1 to the agreement was approved in August 2022 to revise the hourly rates. This Amendment 2 is to adjust the Agreement’s fee structure, Exhibit A. There is no anticipated fiscal impact as the total contract amount is unchanged. The rate adjustments could potentially affect the number of service hours the contractor provides under the contract. There are no changes to the contract language.
