PURPOSE: For the Executive to approve and sign intergovermental services agreement with the City of Edmonds and the City of Mountlake Terrace for lake management and water quality services for Lake Ballinger
BACKGROUND: Lake Ballinger lies on the boarder of the City of Edmonds and the City of Mountlake Terrace, however a portion of the lake watershed remains in the unincorporated County. Therefore, the Cities and County share a common interest with respect to lake management and water quality issues. Snohomish County has provided water quality monitoring services to other jurisdictions since January 2006 and has the staff and resources available to provide this service for Lake Ballinger. Under the proposed agreement the Cities will pay the County a combined total of $6,025 for lake monitoring services in 2025. Future years shall be determined on an annual basis. The costs will be split equally between the two cities. The agreement will extend through December 31, 2029. Executive approval is authorized under SCC 3.04.140(1) as this contract for intergovernmental services is for $50,000 or less.
