DEPARTMENT:  Conservation & Natural Resources/Surface Water Management

ORIGINATOR:  Connie Price/Elisa Dawson

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Lacey Harper 2/12/24

PURPOSE: To authorize approval of Professional Services Agreement SWMCC02-24 with Environmental Science Associates Inc for Meadowdale Restoration Monitoring.

BACKGROUND: As part of its commitment to environmental conservation and natural resources management, Snohomish County desires the support of technical consultants for monitoring and reporting on restoration projects. Considering the growing demand for such services, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources would like to engage a highly qualified contractor for the Meadowdale Beach Estuary and Restoration Project. Environmental Science Associates (ESA), who was selected through the RFP process, can contribute significantly to the County's ongoing efforts to preserve its natural ecosystems. The purpose of this project is to assess the effectiveness of the restoration efforts and ensure the successful rehabilitation of the Meadowdale Beach Park Estuary.  ESA will be responsible for conducting monitoring activities, facilitating regular meetings with project partners, analyzing data, and creating communication materials to report the results of the restoration efforts.
