ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 25-271, authorizing the County Executive to sign the City of Granite Falls Agreement for Inspection and Maintenance of Privately Maintained Storm Drainage Facilities

body

DEPARTMENT:  Public Works

ORIGINATOR:  Lori Ericsson

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Ken Klein 5/30/25

PURPOSE: Approval of the City of Granite Falls Agreement for Inspection and Maintenance of Privately Maintained Storm Drainage Facilities

BACKGROUND: In 2021, Public Works acquired a 1.78-acre parcel from Snoh. Co. Fire Dist. #17.  This parcel will be improved as a satellite materials storage yard for our road maintenance division. The acquisition and improvements are funded by the sale of the Sand Hill Pit property on the Mountain Loop Highway.  As a part of the development of this parcel, the City of Granite Falls requires this private stormwater maintenance agreement to be in place prior to issuance of the required site development permits.  This type of agreement is a standard practice that both County and City jurisdictions use to ensure that stormwater facilities placed on private property will be maintained to standards consistent with federal and state requirements and protect the public agency against future maintenance liabilities.  This covenant is required to be notarized. If approved, a paper copy will be delivered for signature and notarization.
