body

DEPARTMENT:  Sheriff’s Office

ORIGINATOR:  Pauline Sanders

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Ken Klein 10/3/25

PURPOSE: Council Approval for Executive Signature of Enterprise Master Agreement         RFP-24-0313BC

BACKGROUND: *The Sheriff’s Office Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force (SRDTF) is tasked with targeting drug trafficking organizations involved in drug activity in an effort to reduce drug availability and trafficking in Washington State and Snohomish County. *The Sheriff’s Office Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force detectives use unmarked vehicles to conduct daily surveillance, intelligence gathering, and perform sting operations.  The unmarked vehicles are designed to look like regular civilian vehicles to protect the detective’s identity while operating discreetly and effectively. These vehicles play a crucial role in protecting the detectives and the public’s safety while discreetly conducting investigations. *The Sheriff’s Office Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force purchases new unmarked vehicles from the sale of forfeited seized vehicles at auction.   This revenue stream is unpredictability with vehicles being kept past their end of life. *Enterprises fleet management agreement would offer a more consistent budget and more vehicle replacement consistencies.  Newer vehicles have a significantly lower maintenance cost, increased fuel efficiency and the most recent safety technology.   *The Sheriff’s Office is requesting Council approval for the Executive to sign the Enterprise Master Agreement and amendments.
