PURPOSE: To fill a vacancy on the Noxious Weed Control Board in Weed Control District 2.
BACKGROUND: The Noxious Weed Control Board was created to adopt rules and regulations necessary for an effective county weed control and eradication program. It is made up of five members, each of whom represents a specific geographic Noxious Weed Control District, and an at-large ex-officio member.
Molly Jackson submitted an application to be a member of the Noxious Weed Control Board. She lives in Arlington, which is in Weed Control District 2.
Mrs. Jackson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Washington. She currently lives on a small farm in Arlington, and she has been involved in horticulture through her experience via her mother’s landscape design company and her own custom event-florist company.
Mrs. Jackson understands first-hand the impacts of invasive weed species on individual properties, in addition to the community. She brings a shared vision of a safe, ecologically sound, and productive county to the Noxious Weed Control Board.
Pursuant to SCC 2.030.030, County Executive recommends the appointment of Mrs. Jackson to a 4-year term expiring 12/31/2028.
