body
DEPARTMENT: Public Works

ORIGINATOR: Julie High

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved

PURPOSE: Approval of Intergovernmental services agreement between Snohomish County and the City of Arlington concerning utility construction associated with the Tveit Road and Burn Road Improvements Project.

BACKGROUND:
- The City intends to complete the Tveit Road and Burn Road Improvements Project within the Arlington city limits, on Tveit Road at 92nd Avenue Northeast in the south side eastbound lane, and on Burn Road south of 207th Street NE, from the intersection of Burn Road and Old Burn Road.
- The City has a franchise for occupancy of County rights-of-way for utility facilities and desires to have the County complete the following: grind and pave approximately 7,500 square feet on Burn Road for two 150' sections of both lanes of the 25' roadway, and grind and pave approximately 3,750 square feet of Tveit Road in one 300' section of one lane of the 25' roadway. Grind all to 3" and paved back with 1/2 hot mix asphalt (the "Utility Work"), as further described in Exhibit B. All newly ground and paved sections of both roadways will have chip seal (3/8" coverstone and CRS-2P emulsified) applied to their full length.
- The County and the City agree that it will be more efficient and mutually beneficial to both parties for the County to complete the Utility Work during construction of the project.
