PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 02 to Marpac Construction.
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. The remodel contract was bid prior to the moisture remediation being completed in order to meet federal funding timelines. During the moisture remediation process additional asbestos containing materials were discovered. The Change Order will mediate the flooring materials that are now knows to be asbestos containing and are required to be removed. It also provides an allowance for Time & Materials to abate other areas as they are encountered. For the Time & materials portion, the contractor will only charge us for the actual time and materials used. The County will keep the unspent. The County will ask for timesheets, material accounts, etc. for verify the accuracy of the Time & Material billed to the allowance.
