ITEM TITLE:
Title
SNOHOMISH COUNTY NOTICE LETTER TO US GOLDEN EAGLE FARMS
body
DEPARTMENT: CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES

ORIGINATOR: PEJ MORGAN

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved

PURPOSE: A letter to notify adjacent property owner of (i) County's intention to conduct a wetland delineation along the corridor (ii) A boundary survey identified crops growing on County owned property which the crops are growing within the wetland delineation survey area, therefore County is sending a courtesy notice to the farm notifying of the discovery.

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County (the "County"), in partnership with the City of Everett, is planning to develop the Snohomish River Trail, a new regional trail, eventually planned to connect the City of Everett to the City of Monroe. In 2024, the County sent U.S. Golden Eagle Farms a courtesy notice regarding the project and our intent to perform a critical area reconnaissance on County-owned property adjacent to U.S. Golden Eagle Farms property along the corridor. As part of County's project due diligence, the County conducted a property boundary survey of the County-owned parcels mentioned above. The boundary survey has identified crops growing over the boundary of U.S. Golden Eagle Farms-owned property onto the Snohomish County-owned parcels, specifically parcel nos. 28051000301000, 28051500100600, 28051400101000, 28051300301600 & 28051300301700, as shown in the attached aerial maps. The County next intends to conduct a wetland delineation study to help identify critical areas within all County-owned parcels. The County has no intention of disturbing U.S. Golden Eagle Farms operations or impacting crops; however, the County does need to conduct the environmental survey on the County-owned parcels that have crops growing onto County property.
