PURPOSE: Authorization and approval of this contract provides supplemental state recovery assistance for disaster survivors.
BACKGROUND: WA State EMD proclaimed that $1 million dollars will be available for eligible households in Snohomish, Whatcom, and King Counties that incurred major damage or were destroyed by the bomb cyclone on November 19, 2024. Using FEMA damage categories, eligible criteria are households making 80% or less of the local median income, AND primary home (owned or rented) was destroyed or sustained major damage to the primary living area. DEM will work with county departments and partners to distribute funds in response to the Declaration of Emergency for this storm event.
