PURPOSE: The purpose of the amendment is to increase the “Not To Exceed” (NTE) amount from $250,000 to $300,000. for indigent defense attorney representation in Superior Court for the period from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
BACKGROUND: Amendment 2 NTE amends the current contract with the contractor (not the Snohomish County Public Defender Association) for work on cases in Superior Court. The amendment allows the County to pay the contractor for the remainder of the year and assure uninterrupted legal services.
