PURPOSE: Add noise abatement and audio interface to Public Information Office for the purpose of conducting/recording interviews and informational announcements, including public emergency alerting.
BACKGROUND: Through DEM’s partnership with the KRKO radio group, there is the ability to interact with the radio system live but DEM’s facility lacks a suitable location. Installing noise abatement and an audio interface allows these activities to take place in real time during emergencies and disasters. This also strengthens the capability to conduct/record interviews, informational bulletins, and other forms of public information.
