EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved

PURPOSE: Se

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County seeks to build partnerships and strengthen relationships with its community members. The County is particularly interested in engaging with and providing needed services and infrastructure for members of our communities that are in overburdened and disadvantaged areas of the county. Federal and state mandates require that certain funding sources directly benefit overburdened and disadvantaged communities including the state's HEAL Act and the Climate Commitment Act as well as the federal Inflation Reduction Act's (IRA) - Justice 40. Several departments including Planning, Health, DEM, Public Works, and DCNR frequently conduct outreach and engagement efforts including surveys, listening sessions, and disbursement of educational material. The County wishes to ensure that community members are not experiencing duplicative outreach efforts and/or requests for information. Moreover, the County would like to ensure that the community is well informed on how their feedback is being addressed by tangible improvements in their community. Seattle University Project Center's team will: Establish a centralized data base of outreach and engagement efforts that has the capacity for County staff to access and augment. Reduce redundancy and community fatigue. Ensure collected community information can better inform County projects and programs as well as grant applications, and that the results of such funding, programs and projects can be correlated to community feedback data.
